The Kite Machine

The Kite Machine are Geelong’s premier Funk Rock export. Their electric live show is delivered with an infectious energy. Tight grooves and manic riffs are their signature.
With their EP, ‘LUNATICS’ (2015), the band met increasing success with the title track reaching no.1 on the Triple J Unearthed charts. The second single ‘Shadows’ peaked at no.2. Now, TKM are armed with their debut, self-titled LP (to be released in 2019). The lead single, ‘Charlotte’, has already raked in over 350k listens on Spotify. The boys are well and truly geared up to take this record on the road for most of 2019, embarking on what will be their second national tour.

This Way North

It’s easy to forget that This Way North is a two-piece band. Drummer/vocalist Cat Leahy and guitarist/vocalist Leisha Jungalwalla create a uniquely full, expansive sound that translates effortlessly from the studio to the stage.

Hold//Fire

Hold//Fire are a four piece alternative rock band based in and around the Geelong region.

Melodic and emotionally charged vocals combine with overdriven guitars and driving rhythm section to create a unique sound which nods to the members’ heavy rock, alternative and punk influences

Nat Vazer

Melbourne-based songwriter Nat Vazer emerged in early 2018 with her self-released debut single, ‘Keep Away From Parks!’ which quickly caught the ears of Triple J radio.

After being told by a policeman to stay away from her local parks and never go out without a man at night, Vazer wrote ‘Keep Away From Parks!’ as a blunt reminder of the victim-blaming attitudes that people, and women in particular, still put up with all too often.
With glowing reviews from Richard Kingsmill, The Revue and The Indie Folx, Nat Vazer has been dubbed as ‘one to keep your ears glued to’ – Dave Ruby Howe, Triple J. 

​Her debut EP, ‘We Used to Have Real Conversations’, produced by Robert Muinos (Saskwatch, Dorsal Fins), will be released in September 2018.

Nancie Schipper

In July 2017, Nancie Schipper released her first song in nearly two years, after working with ARIA award winner producer Matt Fell. The result was Corner Store, the first single from her new album Sleeptalking, which was quick to attract attention from triple j  Unearthed.

She received stellar reviews from presenters, who dubbed her sound as ‘irresistibly catchy pop music’, and was chosen as a triple j Unearthed feature artist. 

The hard work is paying off for Schipper, who was included in the 2017 Port Fairy Folk Festival line up, and has supported the likes of Little Georgia, Joe Mungovan and Riley Pearce. She was the triple j Unearthed competition winner for ‘Live at the Steps’, which saw her open for Tired Lion, Ruby Fields and Jack River to a crowd of thousands.

Jack the Fox

Jack The Fox, comprised of two school friends Justin Lewis and Angus Robb began writing and recording on the Victorian Surf Coast in 2015. Their first release ‘Brother’  made waves both internationally and on home soil. Through a magnetic combination of emotive acoustic-folk, soul, blues and funk, Melbourne duo Jack The Fox are gearing up to drop a fresh new sonic soundscape with the release of their upcoming debut EP ‘Open Water’.

Justin plays lead guitar, slide guitar and has the rhythm section covered with his percussive acoustic guitar “tapping” style and stomp while Angus demonstrates a large vocal range with a distinctive vocal timbre alongside a harmonious swell of didgeridoo and melodic harmonica.

Jack The Fox have built a strong fanbase locally through extensive national touring, Festival appearances including Nannup Music Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival as well as becoming well known for their energetic live busking performances in Bourke St Mall in Melbourne.

Rach Brennan and the Pines

Geelong artist Rach Brennan promises a sound that is completely her own. Alongside her band ‘The Pines’, the singer-songwriter’s sunny spirit is embedded in her captivating live performances, with catchy melodies a-plenty and four-part harmonies that will remind you of sing-alongs you’ve had with your best mates.

Her ‘not-quite-folk-rock, almost-pop-rock sound’ has seen her sell out Geelong’s ‘Barwon Club’ on two occasions for her own releases. Rach took her music to Europe in 2015, playing a string of 27 shows across 10 countries.

She returned last year with her band for a shorter stint, notably filling The Spirit Store in Ireland. Having just released their new single ‘Weapon of Love’, Rach Brennan & The Pines sold out two hometown single launches in under a week, with the track reaching #4 on the iTunes Singer Songwriter charts.

​On the cusp of releasing her debut album 'Here's to Better Times & Seeing Better Places', the 24-year-old emerging artist is armed with ambition, her five-piece act and a collection of unpretentious and impressive tunes that were penned as a nod to early adulthood.

Murray McDonald

Murray McDonald from Cororooke is the lead singer and guitarist of punk band Japan For.

​He’s been performing for just on 20 years in bands and as a solo act.

Murray likes to convert his punk written songs into a more folk style tune for his solo sets.

Jess Sky

Jess Skye is a singer songwriter who grew up on the shipwreck coast of Nirranda. She has had the pleasure of opening for well known artists such as Shane Howard (Goanna), James Bennett, The settlement and Grim Faulkner. She is currently recording her E.P Troubled Waters and looking to branch out and play more Melbourne gigs along with hitting the festival scene.

Her sound is very unique, described as indi, folk, pop with a touch of blues, her haunting vocals, spine tingling lyrics and catchy playful melodies tell a story of her desire to follow her gypsy soul through the currents of life from heartbreak, loneliness and loss, to freedom, lust and love, Skye's performance is one of an intriguing woman who wears her heart on her sleeve and has often been described as moving mystical and mysterious.

Dr Sayers and the Other Guys

An exciting young Rock Band from Lorne; Dr Sayers and the Other Guys combine elements of Blues Rock and Alternative Rock to create upbeat original tunes.

Liam 'The Doctor' Sayers, Hank Hylands, Simon Umbers and Gabe Yorke formed the band in 2016 as part of their school's music program.

​The band has just released their first EP 'Sex, Labcoats and Rock 'n' Roll' mixed and recorded at Roseneath Creative.

Moonshine Blues

​MOONSHINE BLUES is Victorian Blues, Jazz and Soul band consisting of Vickie-Maree Barnett on vocals, Rob Wilmot on piano/organ and Phil Langdon on guitar playing songs from Etta James to Renee Geyer, Nina Simone to Noah Jones, Slow moody blues to energized soulful jazz, past and present .

OMM Kids Rock Choir

First established in March 2012, OMM Rock Choir was formed to give local talent a voice through its Mass Community Choir & Percussion Groups.

The song choices tend to re-interpret classic rock anthems which make the performances energetic, unforgettable and relevant to people of all ages. Now in it’s seventh year @ Birregurra Festival, this year ‘OMM Rock Choir - Kids’ will feature the voices of 140 children from Birregurra and Deans Marsh Primary Schools as well as showcase the wonderful talents of  older individuals across the region.

​This generation-crossing musical extravaganza is a large-scale production put on by the Community… for the Community. OMM’s goal is to engage whole towns in musical performance that both inspires and rewards.
